Clean Beauty - What's So Dirty About It?

Do you keep seeing the term #CleanBeauty everywhere? Then you aren't the only one! Google searches are being inundated daily with thousands of people wondering..

“So what is so dirty about Beauty anyway?”

The beauty industry is going through a shake-up thanks to an army of conscious beauty consumers and new technology with everyone wanting to ensure that what they put on their face, skin and into their bodies won’t cause them harm. That’s not asking for too much, right?

The ingredients found in skincare have widely gone unnoticed.. that is until now. The term Clean Beauty is used by companies and consumers to differentiate what products have been rigorously tested and scrutinised to ensure the ingredients are considered safe, are chemical-free, are non-toxic and have no known effects of disrupting your hormones and aren’t carcinogenic/cancer-causing.

It has long been left up to beauty consumers to solely rely and trust upon marketing claims but now with more tools and awareness at our disposable, it's easier to keep everyone accountable.

You now have more power than ever by being able to discern between what is marketing and what is evidence-based claims with education at the click of a mouse.

Greater access to education coupled with transparency within the industry has had a profound effect on beauty companies that they just can’t ignore and are now having to respond to the demands for Clean Beauty

Some other companies have gone as far as discontinuing products or having to reformulate them to be acceptable for today’s climate. It’s no longer considered a ‘nice to have’ it’s now and will continue to be, a non-negotiable that our skincare contains ingredients that are free from things that can cause long-term health damage and that demand is only going to continue to grow as the collective awareness grows.

At Good Living Only we want to empower you on your wellness journey, so here are a few ingredients to keep an eye out for. This can help you decide if a product is safe or may cause you unwanted harm.. without undertaking a science degree!
